Celebrating Community, One Sweet Step at a Time

This Labor Day, the Bloomington-Normal community came together in a big way for the annual parade. It was a beautiful, sunny day, perfect for celebrating and connecting with our neighbors.

The Bloomington-Normal Sister Cities Committee spread international cheer and a little bit of sweetness. As they walked the parade route, committee members passed out Hi-Chew candy, a beloved Japanese treat, to the enthusiastic crowd. It was a small but delightful gesture that highlighted our community's connection to our sister cities around the world, including Asahikawa, Japan.

The parade was a true success. The streets were filled with people of all ages, enjoying the floats, bands, and the vibrant spirit of our community. Seeing so many people come out and have a great time was a wonderful reminder of what makes Bloomington-Normal such a special place to live.

This year's parade was a great mix of local pride and global friendship, and the Sister Cities Committee was proud to be a part of it.
